Smith Rock Hiking Engagement

This is probably one of my favorite engagement shoots of all time! Olivia and I had been chatting about what they wanted to do for their engagement shoot and she mentioned hiking to the top of Smith Rock. I had been dying to hike up there, so was excited when she mentioned wanting to do it. And MAN! WOW! What a view! When I moved to Oregon from Indiana, I was hoping that these were the types of shoots I got to do. I love adventure, hiking and getting to spend time shooting outside. Smith Rock is one of the most stunning places I have ever been to, and shot at, and it is practically in my backyard. We also lucked out with one of the most stunningly clear days with a beautiful sunset.

If you know me, you know I am super afraid of heights. Smith Rock is 1000ft tall and has a shear drop down to the bottom. I was terrified and felt like I was going to have to crawl from spot to spot, but I managed and was super excited about the images.

I am looking forward to capturing Dane & Olivia’s wedding at Black Butte Ranch in Sisters early in 2021. Thank you to you two for being so adventurous and up for anything. I hope you LOVE the images as much as I do! Can’t wait to go hiking up there again!
